I was doing some surfing and came across your web
site. I found it quite interesting and educational. I saw your request
for Chin pics, so I thought I'd send some of my 2.
Both were rescues. Bailey is 7, and was abandoned, with a friend
finding him and his sister roaming as 8 week puppies. Their owners had
been evicted and they left the puppies to their fates. I had Bailey
about a year before we even found out what he was! Since then, he has
become the Official Pony Dog for our Mustang Club and travels all over
the US. He has now been trained as a Medical Alert Dog, so he can go
anywhere I go.
A little over a year ago, I went looking for a replacement to his old
Sheltie buddy that died of cancer awhile back. Bailey was devastated
with the loss of his pal.
Hi-po was 9 weeks in Oct., 2008 and was also rescued from a puppy mill,
along with his sister. I only had room for 1 more and took him home. He
and Bailey get along better than any other dogs I have ever had. They
constantly play together, sleep on top of each other, and both love
travelling. Both are extremely well-behaved and I never have to worry
about anyone agitating them, as they just walk awayf rom obnoxious
people. he is also being trained as a Service Dog, so both go
everywhere. He is the Asst Pony Dog.
I never really liked smaller dogs, having mostly collies, but the
personalities of these 2 are awesome. I wouldn't trade either for
anything! Even my girlfriend was a big dog person, but they show her so
much love, she can't resist them either. They will constantly be
travelling with me, showing everyone what Japanese Chins are really
like and promote the breed. Their behavior and attitudes win over
everyone. Takes twice as long just to get thru Wal-Mart, with everyone
wanting to meet them!
Here are some pics for your website. Bailey is the one w/ the wide
blaze on the forehead- Hi-po's is narrower.
