This is Charlie. We
adopted Charlie at the beginning of last year. Charlie was found
wandering the streets of Everett, bald and hungry. He went to the
home of a volunteer at Everett Animal Shelter to be taken care of until
he was adoptable. I was introduced to Charlie thru a woman at my
work that said that he needed a home. He had already been adopted
by a family but didn't warm up to them quick enough so he was brought
back. When we first got Charlue he didn't like to be picked up or
given kisses close to his face. We are guessing the first family
tried to pick him up or get too close to him before he was ready to.
Now that he knows we are not a threat, he lets us give him love all the
time, he likes to go for car rides, get brushed, wear his sweatshirt
when he gets cold and lays with us and watches tv. He is a
wonderful dog. As it is too bad that the first family didn't give
him enough time to get comfortable around them, their loss is
definately our gain. We couldn't be happier with Charlie.
He is the perfect addition to our family.
I couldn't decide on just one picture of our Japanese Chin.
Charlie has been a part of our family for 1 year. He was actually
found wandering the streets of Everett Washington bald and only
weighing 7 pounds. Someone found him and brought him to the
animal shelter where he went to a volunteer's home who took care of him
and made him adoptable. He needed betadine baths and sit in front
of heaters to stay warm. He was adopted to another family but
within 2 days they said he nipped at them and they didn't want
him. He needed a home. I was looking for a dog for my
fiance' and my boss told me about Charlie. She brought him in one
day and we were in love. He now has a great coat of fur, weighs
12 pounds, knows tricks and is the sweetest dog ever. He never
leaves my fiance's side unless it is going somewhere with me. We
think that Charlie was supposed to be our dog and that is why it didn't
work with the othe r family. Their loss is definately our
gain. He is wonderful. I am so gald we took in a rescue
dog. This is just one story of how well a rescue dog can connect
with new people and become a part of the family so well.
